Seaside Theatre Company presents its sixth production, The Uninvited: A Ghost Story by Tim Kelly, from the novel by Dorothy Macardle, at the Scott McAulay Performing Arts Centre on November 26, 27, 28, and 28. An isolated house in the countryside, a varied cast of characters, a set of mysterious events, and a mystery that must be solved before peace can come again: The Uninvited was the first narrative to popularize all that we now expect from a good ghost story.  Seeking to escape the demands of life in London, Pam Fitzgerald and her brother, Roddy, an aspiring playwright, discover a charming house in the west of England, overlooking the Irish Sea. The house, Cliff End, has long been empty, and they are able to purchase it at a suspiciously low price from crusty Commander Brooke, the village curmudgeon. The reason is soon apparent: The house has an unsavory reputation.  Fifteen years earlier a murder may or may not have occurred by the gnarled tree that can be viewed from the parlor window. Slowly the Fitzgeralds begin to sense the evil spirit that still inhabits the house, announcing its presence with a sudden, bone-chilling cold. The action then builds steadily to a truly terrifying climax, in which the ghost is discovered to be not only real… but dangerous. The cast of The Uninvited includes actors from previous shows, as well as some new faces to grace the stage. Marc Arsenault, Katie Kelly, Carol-Ann Luddington, Zachary Martin, Emmeline Meister, and Meghan Skerry are returning veterans, while Shannan Bouchey, Crystal Howard, Jameson Layton,  and Jackie Sharkey are making their Seaside debut.  The show is co-directed by Katie Kelly and Stuart Smith, and stage management is by Jen Desroche and Sara Reid, while Vanessa MacArthur is production coordinator.  The show is produced by Peter Gallant and SMPAC.
