SUMMARY:Lettice and Lovage: A Peter Shaffer Comedy!
DESCRIPTION:Seaside Theatre presents Peter Shaffer’s riotous comedy\, Lettice and Lovage.  In this long running West End play\, we meet two characters who at first are at polar opposites: Lettice Douffett\, the flamboyant tour guide who is not above adding some “interesting” facts to her tours\, and staid Lotte Schoen\, her boss who believes that facts are facts\, no matter how boring.  The two nevertheless form an unlikely friendship over a shared disdain for bland modern society\, and together they plot against it\, with unintended results!  A hilarious play with two wonderful roles\, Maggie Smith and Margaret Tyzack earned Tony Awards for playing these characters.\n\nSeaside Theatre Company is PEI’s newest community theatre\, and is based out of the Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre in Summerside. The company aims to “build community through theatre” by drawing on the many talents found throughout the Island\, and by presenting a wide variety of theatrical productions for both audiences and participants to experience.\n\nPreviously at Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre\, Seaside Theatre has presented Black Comedy\, The 39 Steps\, Dear Jack Dear Louise and The Mousetrap.\n\nYour continued support is greatly appreciated!

SUMMARY:SHREK THE MUSICAL JR.
DESCRIPTION:Athena Consolidated School STUDENTS’ MUSICAL THEATER PRODUCTION OF  \nSHREK THE MUSICAL JR. \nNasty will be nice and Summerside will be ogre-the-moon when Athena students present their production of Shrek The Musical JR. beginning April 29\, 2026\, it was announced today by Freddie Gershon\, CEO of Music Theatre International (MTI). The family-friendly musical comedy follows the adventures of an ogre named Shrek who sets off on a quest to save a princess from a dragon. However\, it turns out that in order to ultimately succeed\, Shrek must battle an even bigger obstacle: learning how to believe in himself and open his heart to others.    \n“Shrek’s unique story of discovery encourages each of us to examine our prejudices\, review what we believe to be our limitations and work to better understand ourselves and others. The actors and crew in this production have embarked on a similar journey\, as students and teachers with many different interests have learned more about themselves and each other while collaborating towards the common goal of presenting this musical\,” says Gershon. \nShrek The Musical JR. follows an ogre named Shrek who has learned the hard way that “people hate the things they cannot understand.” For many years he has protected himself from the hurtful actions of those who are scared of him by living as a recluse in a cozy cesspit. One day\, his peaceful swamp is disturbed by new tenants: fairytale misfits — including Pinocchio\, the Ugly Duckling\, the Wicked Witch\, Peter Pan\, the Three Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf — have been banished there by the villainous Lord Farquaad. In order to gain back his land\, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad to rescue the feisty princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a fierce dragon. Setting off with his faithful companion\, Donkey\, Shrek begins the journey of a lifetime filled with adventure\, romance\, and hilarity. \nWith music by Jeanine Tesori\, book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire\, Shrek The Musical is based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the book Shrek by William Steig. The original Broadway production\, starring Brian d’Arcy James as Shrek and Sutton Foster as Fiona\, ran for twelve months and received a total of twelve Drama Desk Awards and eight Tony Award nominations\, including Best Musical. The musical was adapted to be performed by students by educational musical theatre consultancy firm iTheatrics under the supervision of Timothy Allen McDonald.  \n

SUMMARY:Ma grande foi de Dieu
»\n\nMa grande foi de Dieu (Oh\, my God!)\nGod loves being close to His children. And so\, for nearly 200 years\, he’s been\nrunning a bar called Les Cinq Pairs (The Five Pairs)— like the playing cards. But\nin true divine fashion\, it’s really a French pun: Le Saint Père (The Holy Father).\nThe bar is a lively spot\, filled with intriguing\, sometimes downright peculiar\ncharacters. Guardian angels Angèle and Marie-Madeleine serve drinks\, while the\nArchangel Gabriel works the door as the bouncer. And presiding over it all is God\nHimself — known here simply as Pape — tending bar with a watchful eye.\nOne of the regulars is Michel\, who has just won the world title of “Smartest\nPerson on Earth.” Brimming with confidence\, he tells Pape that if he were God\,\nhe would do a much better job — fixing every problem in the world with just a\nsnap of his fingers.\nBut be careful what you say in front of Pape… because he’s bold enough to make\nthat wish come true. And when it does\, Michel can only cry out: “Oh\, my God!”

SUMMARY:Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical
DESCRIPTION:One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film\, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney’s Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2\,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards\, including Best Musical. \nThe jack-of-all trades\, Bert\, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense\, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures\, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.” \nMary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story\, unforgettable songs\, breathtaking dance numbers\, and astonishing stagecraft. Presented by the 8th Avenue Players\, who previously captivated Island audiences with their performances of Little Women and Godspell. Featuring a large local cast and a live orchestra\, this will be a show you don’t want to miss!

SUMMARY:Back In Black: Full Album and Greatest Hits - AC/DC Tribute Featuring High Voltage
DESCRIPTION: AC/DC Back In Black: Full Album and Greatest Hits Featuring High Voltage\nACDC has been classified as hard rock\, blues rock\, heavy metal; however\, ACDC simply refers to their music as “rock n roll”.  Founded by the two Young brothers\, Angus and Malcolm\, ACDC started out in 1973 and in 1974 Bon Scott joined as the lead singer until his untimely passing in early 1980.  Bon was replaced with Brian Johnson just a few months later and debuted on ACDC’s biggest selling album to date\, “Back in Black” later that same year.  The band had some line-up changes (bassists and drummers)\, however\, none as big as the early retiring of Malcolm Young in 2014 and his later passing in 2017.  ACDC was inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame in 2003 and have written\, produced and performed some of the most memorable rock n roll music all over the planet. \nHigh Voltage is a PEI group of high energy musicians who enjoy playing the songs of ACDC and want to share these songs of ACDC with you all.   Songs from both ACDC eras (Bon Scott (RIP) and Brian Johnson) will be performed.  The classic songs that High Voltage have chosen to perform will no doubt make you want to sing and dance along to the songs that you already know and love.  We have distilled down our years of musical passion for ACDC into this live high energy performance.   High Voltage are:  Coady MacDonald (lead vocals)\, Jason Birch (drums)\, Nathan Shea (Rhythm guitar)\, Jeff Smith (bass) and Richard Bethell (lead guitar).  Come join us live for this AC/DC experience.
